Message from Itheko Cubs Captain
Aadam Mowlana
On Monday, the 2nd July, we participated in the weeklong WPA Holiday Camp. It was attended by approximately 10 clubs with 150 athletes. We were not only involved in athletics, but in educational programmes hosted by the SPCA, The Nature Conservation Environmental Organisation and an exciting visit to the Aquarium. We were treated to a surprise celebrity visit by Helen Zille who spoke to us about family and healthy lifestyle.
The week’s activities ended in an exciting Mini Olympics with Itheko winning the Creative Prize. I was very proud of our athletes’ behaviour and attitude as well as our excellent group leader, Raziah, who was there for everyone. The best part of the week was all the new friends we made, and the great fun we had.
I will definitely recommend all of our juniors to attend the next programme hosted by WPA.
